Moving window techniques to model shock wave propagation using the concurrent atomistic–continuum method

چکیده

Atomistic methods have successfully modeled different aspects of shock wave propagation in materials over the past several decades, but they suffer from limitations which restrict total runtime and system size. Multiscale been able to increase length time scales that can be employing such schemes simulate evolution through engineering-scale domains is an active area research. In this work, we develop two distinct moving window approaches within a Concurrent Atomistic–Continuum (CAC) framework model one-dimensional monatomic chain. first method, entire CAC travels with conveyor fashion maintains front middle overall domain. second atomistic region follows by simultaneous coarsening refinement continuum regions. The frameworks are verified dispersion relation studies phonon packet tests. We achieve good agreement between simulated velocities values obtained theory technique, while coarsen-refine technique allows us follow propagating large-scale This work showcases ability method accurately shocks also demonstrates how used multiscale study highly nonlinear, transient phenomena.

Seismic Wave-Field Propagation Modelling using the Euler Method

Wave-field extrapolation based on solving the wave equation is an important step in seismic modeling and needs a high level of accuracy. It has been implemented through a various numerical methods such as finite difference method as the most popular and conventional one. Moreover, the main drawbacks of the finite difference method are the low level of accuracy and the numerical dispersion for l...

Simulation of Wave Propagation over Coastal Structures Using WCSPH Method

In this paper a space-averaged Navier–Stokes approach was deployed to simulate the wave propagation over coastal structures. The developed model is based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamic (SPH) method which is a pure Lagrangian approach and can handle large deformations of the free surface with high accuracy. In this study, the large eddy simulation (LES) turbulent model was coupled with th...

Modeling Diffusion to Thermal Wave Heat Propagation by Using Fractional Heat Conduction Constitutive Model

Based on the recently introduced fractional Taylor’s formula, a fractional heat conduction constitutive equation is formulated by expanding the single-phase lag model using the fractional Taylor’s formula. Combining with the energy balance equation, the derived fractional heat conduction equation has been shown to be capable of modeling diffusion-to-Thermal wave behavior of heat propagation by ...

Online Reputation Model Using Moving Window

Users are increasingly dependent on decision tools to facilitate their transactions on the internet. Reputation models offer a solution to the users in supporting their purchase decisions. The reputation model takes product ratings as input and produces product quality as score. Most existing reputation models use naïve average method or weighted average method to aggregate ratings. Naïve avera...

A lattice Boltzmann method for shock wave propagation in solids

This paper proposes a new lattice Boltzmann (LB) method for the study of shock wave propagation in elastic solids. The method, which implements a flux-corrected transport (FCT) algorithm, contains three stages: collision, streaming, and correction. In the collision stage, distribution functions are updated. In the streaming stage, the distribution functions are shifted between lattice points. G...
